I'll be upfront: I'm not a doctor or a nutritionist. I'm someone who got obsessed with feeling better and spent a lot of time reading studies, consulting with my own healthcare providers, and experimenting on myself. What follows is my personal stack — the five things that made a real, noticeable difference.

My Morning Stack, In Order

01
Daily non-negotiable

Collagen Peptides Powder

I add a scoop of collagen peptides to my morning coffee before I do anything else. I've been doing this for over a year and the difference in my skin, hair, and joint comfort is genuinely hard to ignore. The key is consistency — collagen takes at least 60–90 days to show real results.

What to look for on the label: Hydrolyzed collagen peptides (also called collagen hydrolysate), grass-fed bovine or marine source, no added sugars or fillers. The scoop should be 10–20g of protein.

Immune + bone support

Vitamin D3 + K2

Most people are deficient in D3 and don't know it — and D3 without K2 can actually cause problems with calcium routing. Taking them together is the move. I take 5,000 IU of D3 with 100mcg of K2 (MK-7 form) every morning with a meal that has some fat in it, since D3 is fat-soluble.

What to look for on the label: D3 (cholecalciferol), not D2. K2 as MK-7 (menaquinone-7), not MK-4. Combined in one capsule is ideal for compliance.

03
Greens & micronutrients

Organic Greens Powder

I don't always eat as many vegetables as I should. Greens powder doesn't replace vegetables, but it fills in the gaps on busy mornings. I mix it into water right after my coffee. The key is finding one that doesn't taste like lawn clippings — there are good ones out there now.

What to look for on the label: Organic certification, a blend of grasses, algae, and vegetables (not just fillers), low or no added sweeteners. A good greens powder shouldn't need to be hidden in a smoothie to taste okay.

Omega-3 essential

Fish Oil (Omega-3)

Omega-3s are one of the most well-researched supplements available. I take them for cardiovascular support, inflammation management, and brain function — and I've noticed a real difference in how my joints feel since adding high-quality fish oil to my routine. The quality of the fish oil matters enormously.

What to look for on the label: EPA and DHA combined of at least 1,000mg per serving. Triglyceride form (not ethyl ester) is better absorbed. Third-party tested for heavy metals. Enteric coating helps if you get fish burps.

05
Gut health

Probiotic

I saved this one for last because it took me the longest to find one that actually worked. The probiotic market is flooded with low-quality products with dead bacteria by the time they reach you. A good probiotic changed my digestion, my skin clarity, and even my mood (the gut-brain axis is real).

What to look for on the label: Multiple strains including Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium, at least 10–30 billion CFUs, shelf-stable or refrigerated (refrigerated tends to be more potent), guaranteed potency at time of expiration — not just at manufacture.

A quick note on label reading

  • Look for third-party testing seals: NSF, USP, or Informed Sport
  • Shorter ingredient lists are usually a good sign
  • Proprietary blends often hide low doses — look for exact amounts
  • Check serving size vs. what's studied — some products look good per container but require 4 pills to get an effective dose
  • Price is not always a quality indicator, but suspiciously cheap usually means low-quality inputs

How I Take Them

The order matters less than consistency. Here's my actual morning flow: collagen goes into my coffee first thing, then I take D3+K2 and fish oil with breakfast (fat helps absorption for both), greens powder goes into a glass of water midway through the morning, and I take my probiotic 30 minutes before eating.

The biggest thing I'd tell anyone starting a supplement routine: pick two or three things to start, not all five at once. You won't be able to tell what's working if you change everything at the same time.

The Bottom Line

These five supplements have been the most consistent part of my wellness routine for over a year. They're not magic pills — sleep, diet, and movement still matter more than anything you can take. But as a foundation to support everything else, this stack genuinely works for me.
